Four Point Inspections

Four Point Inspections

Insurance companies have become increasingly cautious when insuring homes over 25 years old. In many cases, insurers will require a report outlining the condition of four critical systems before agreeing to insure a home. Pillar To Post™ Home Inspectors perform four point inspections.

What Is A Four Point Inspection?

A four point inspection covers the four systems that are of most concern to an insurance company: the roof, the electrical system, the plumbing system, and the heating and cooling system.

Which Homes Should Have A Four Point Inspection?

Ultimately, this is up to your insurance company. This requirement is most common on older homes, especially in Florida and Texas, however it may be a requirement in other areas.

Do I Need A Home Inspection If I Get A Four Point Inspection?

A four point inspection is not a substitute for a home inspection, and covers a small subset of the elements covered in a home inspection. A four point inspection does not include the structure of the home, for example.
